Never, ever call Four Sons! Caila McKenna understands the rule. A truck accident and her brother’s life held in the balance, force her to make the call to the large towing company for help. John Thunder, the owner of Four Sons agrees, but assistance comes at an extremely high price. It seems that all the strong, confident, Native American wants from a McKenna is money and pain.
John gathers his brothers for a rescue and recovery. A forty year old debt would finally be settled and the McKenna’s would pay. John’s proud of his reputation for being hard but fair, and can’t seem to balance the two when dealing with Caila. Work boots and a man’s shirt don’t hide the intriguing woman beneath. Simple negotiations over a black and white contract suddenly seem gray as John tries to remember all the reasons he should keep dealings with Caila strictly business.

I absolutely loved this novel all the way until the last couple of pages. The characters are well-written and have depth, even the secondary characters have realism and are mentioned often enough that we can get a good sense of them. There is plenty of action and a smoking hot romance between the two leads, so I found the story fulfilling on every level. So this would have been a clear five-star review. However, the last few pages really gave me pause...and I don't want to give spoilers here and ruin it for anyone. Suffice it to say that the hero and heroine had their happily ever after on fairly equal footing...but then in the last few pages there is a major problem that comes up where it appears that he has very clear goals and is going to get his way, rather than caring about what she wants. Even worse, instead of voicing her needs or desires, she's content to do what he wants because she loves him. I have a BIG problem with that for this character. Part of her character growth was to be able to voice her own wants and needs rather than simply doing for others all the time, and in the end it feels like she just collapsed back in on herself and gives her husband whatever he wants rather than standing up for her own desires.
Overall, I wouldn't let that stop you from experiencing this book. The prose is smooth and there are some wonderful Irish customs highlighted at different times, the hero and heroine are clearly meant for each other and there is a strong feeling of family, honor, duty, forgiveness, and looking toward the future that makes this book highly recommended.

Forbidden Thunder edition by Kathleen Lash Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Starts out exciting and just gets hotter from there. I couldn't put it down. Will be buying the first two books of her Raven series as soon as I finish this review.
This is a delightful story. In the every day world of McKenna Trucking and Four Son's Towing there has never been a woman like Caila but the men at McKenna have had years to get used to the idea that Caila is anything but a normal woman and Four Son's hasn't seen anything yet! Caila is strong but charming, dresses like a tomboy but is all woman underneath, and she has an unfailing loyalty to her brothers and the employees of McKenna Trucking that the men at Four Son's can't help but admire, especially John Thunder. Caila also know how to negotiate and comes up with a creative plan to help Four Son's trucking out as well as pay on her father's debt. John knows the deal is fair for his company and the idea of making Caila and her brother's pay their father's debt is souring his stomach, especially when he starts to learn that the McKenna children may have been "paying" for their father's problems for years. I loved this story. It was intriguing, entertaining, and charming. If you love strong women lead characters and alpha men who learn to love them stories, this is a book for you! - Steph B.
Great read! I loved the family dynamics between the h and her brothers, but also her relationship with her father was interesting along with the way she coped with his treatment of her. The H's reluctance to become involved with her and finally giving in to his attraction made a great story. I loved the way his parents got past the history between her father and the H's to accept the H and h's new love. I will definately read more from this author!!
I've read this book dozens of times. It is one of my absolute favorites. I just wish the author would write more!!
This is my first from this author. I was pleasantly surprised with the depth of personalities and issues portrayed. The story line was well thought out. Sexually, a bit tame compared to what I'm used to reading but good enough for the story. Loved the family dynamics between Caila and her brothers. Very good read and nice deviation from the authors I follow.
When two feuding families clash, it produces a LOT of heat. This is a very good book with suspense, angst, romance, and lots of steamy action. This is not a clean romance, it is for people who like some heat with their reading. It qualifies as erotica, but without the vulgar language and with a very coherent, enjoyable story around it. You don't feel as though you're just being strung from sex scene to sex scene, and there are few grammar/typo issues. That's a real plus for me.
It looks like the first in a series, but works well as a standalone and I hope the other books will be handled as well. The HEA was well handled and well deserved by the characters when they finally got there. There were one or two plot points I would have liked to see wrapped up, but on the whole the book worked well.
I highly recommend it and am looking forward to reading more from this writer.
